Adding money by bank transfer is coming soon. When it starts, it may not cover every country at first. The app will tell you before you start.
Where Mintoo isn't available
Mintoo isn't offered outside the EEA, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States.
You can't sign up or move money with Mintoo from these countries, which are under comprehensive sanctions:
- Belarus
- Cuba
- Iran
- North Korea
- Russia
- Syria
The same applies to Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, regions of Ukraine under comprehensive sanctions. People and companies on EU, UN, UK or US sanctions lists aren't allowed to use Mintoo anywhere.
How we check
We check where you connect from when you sign up and before every payment, top-up and cash-out: your country and, in Ukraine, your region. Once real money starts, you also can't sign up or move money over Tor or another anonymising network. Once identity verification is offered, our partner will also check your country of residence and screen against sanctions lists. Using a VPN or false details to get around these rules breaks our Terms.
If you move outside the EEA, you can still sign in and see your balance, but you can't add money. In a sanctioned country, every money action stops.
During the test-money beta
While Mintoo runs on a test network with test money, testers outside the EEA can also join, for example from Switzerland or the United Kingdom. The sanctions rules above always apply. When real money starts, new accounts are EEA only and anonymising networks are blocked.
